Alex Balaban was back on the Board Of Education (BOE) at the March 1st meeting after rescinding his resignation which was submitted on February 16, 2011 to the Board. This is the second time in as many years that Mr. Balaban took back a resignation he tendered – the first being for the Library Board last year.
Mr. Balaban stated that he was going to participate in a program at work which would take time away from serving on the BOE but he got sick with the flu was not able to take part. Additionally, he said the there were a lot of demands at work with people retiring. “It just compounded things for me,” he commented regarding his previous decision to resign, “[But] now I’m going to continue [on the Board] and give 110%.”
