The Women’s Ministry of the Church of the Assumption will sponsor their third annual “Unity in Prayer” gathering on June 3, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Michael J. Mauri Gazebo Park located on the corner of Chestnut Street and East Grant Avenue.
Persons of all faiths are welcomed to join. The goal of the event is to encourage ecumenical unity through prayer.
“In these difficult times, it is our hope that this event will bring a measure of peace to all and allow us to share one another’s burdens as we support each other and seek the grace and blessings of God,” stated Leona Seufert, a member of the Women’s Ministry, “Hopefully, this event will serve as a vehicle to encourage all persons to seek a closer relationship with God by showing love for their neighbor.”
Speakers will include Rev. Archie Cummins from the Heard African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and Rev. Blessing Magomero from the Roselle United Methodist Church (RUMC). There will also be Christian music provided by DJ Carlos Roman of “Music in Live”.
Use of public transportation or carpooling is encouraged. Anyone interested in more information can contact Diane Burgos at (908) 259-0376.
