2nd Annual Unity In Prayer Coming To Mauri Park

The Women’s Ministry of the Church of the Assumption will be sponsoring the second annual “Unity in Prayer” gathering on June 5, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Michael J. Mauri Gazebo Park located on the corner of Chestnut Street and East Grant Avenue. The goal of the event is to create community and encourage ecumenical unity through prayer.

“In these difficult times, it is our hope that this event will bring a measure of peace to all and allow us to share one another’s burdens as we support each other and seek the grace and blessings of God,” stated Leona Seufert, who is member of the Women’s Ministry, “Hopefully, this event will serve as a vehicle to encourage all persons to seek a closer relationship with God by showing love for their neighbor.”

Guest speakers will include Pastor Anthony Gilyard of Bethlehem Judah Christian Fellowship (Elizabeth), Pastor Glenn Scheyhing of Community United Methodist Church (Roselle Park), and Father Jim Spera of Church of the Assumption (Roselle Park). There will also be gospel music and choir singing.

Persons of  all faiths including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism are all welcome to join for fellowship, prayer and worship.
