2018 RP Short Film Festival Takes To The Screen

Close to 50 mini-movies from hundreds of entries throughout the world will be shown at this year’s Roselle Park Short Film Festival this Saturday – September 29th – during the Roselle Park Arts Festival from 1 p.m. till 9 o’clock in the evening.

The juried entries range from a little under 90 seconds to 25 minutes and include genres in drama, comedy, horror, animation, documentary, and experimental cinema. From first-time filmmakers to seasoned professionals, from studio-quality productions to those made on free digital software, a wide swath of cinematic art will grace two screens – one at the Casano Community Center and the other at the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library.

The film festival will conclude with an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. to announce winning entries at the main stage along Chestnut Street by the library. This will be followed by a showcase of 2018 award-winning films.

Tonight will have a selection of the festival’s short films accompanied by a meet & greet with filmmakers along with other movie lovers at Climax Brewing Company.

The open-air screening will include award-winning beer – at a nominal charge – for those who are 21-years-old and over. Those under the legal age to drink alcohol will have soft drinks available to them.
