The list of 25 dates for this year’s Board Of Education (BOE) meetings was approved at the January 2nd school board meeting. The public is welcomed to attend all but one meeting even though, legally, the annual board retreat held in June of every year is to have a public comment portion.
Meetings will be held in four (4) schools throughout the year. Robert Gordon Elementary School is not a designated location for BOE meetings due to a lack of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) access to the auditorium, which is located on the top floor of the school.
All public meetings are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Closed sessions – also known as executive sessions – are set to start at 6 o’clock at night. These sessions allow the BOE to discuss personnel matters or other matters exempt from the public in accordance with NJSA 10:4-6, the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA). If needed, closed sessions might also occur at the end of a meeting.
