The second school board candidate to sit with Roselle Park News is Matthew Leingang. The Roselle Park resident sat for his conversation at the end of September.
Mr. Leingang, in his hour-long interview, addressed his views on the current state of the school district and his vision for how he wants to contribute as an elected official. Issues included technology, budgets, light poles, full-day kindergarten, the T&G (Talented & Gifted) program, curricula, communication with parents, bicycling to school, and his favorite number – among others. The productive back-and-forth had Mr. Leingang offering in-depth answers that went beyond a soundbite.
The school board has three available seats and the candidates with the top three (3) votes will serve a three-year term. Voters can select from one to three candidates. Election Day is November 8th.
