2 RP Residents Arrested After Stop For Passenger Seatbelt Violation

On Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at approximately 1:38 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan observed a white Pontiac Bonneville travel eastbound on Westfield Avenue. The passenger of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt in violation of 39:3-76.2F. A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of five (5) round white pills labeled “54/142″; five (5) yellow round pills labeled “C/13″; and one (1) small clear plastic ripped bag which contained suspected cocaine residue.

The driver, Andrea Spinelli, age 36 of Roselle Park, and the passenger, Alexis D’Amore, age 27 of Roselle Park,  were placed under arrest. Ms. Spinelli was charged with 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia) and issued a motor vehicle summons for 39:3-40 (suspended driver). Ms. D’Amore was charged with 2C:35-10(a)(1) (possession of Schedule II and IV drugs) and 2C:36-2 (drug paraphernalia) and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-76.2F (seatbelt).

They were both released pending a Superior Court first appearance of April 1, 2011.
