On Monday, January 17, 2011 at approximately 8:43 p.m., patrolman Nicholas Vaughan responded to the 200 block of East Westfield Avenue to a 1st floor apartment on a report from the superintendent of a possible burglary to an apartment.
The superintendent of the building stated that he was walking on the east side of the building at approximately 8:15 p.m. to take garbage to the dumpster when he noticed the window to an apartment on the ground floor was wide open. He also observed several items on the ground outside the window.
Police observed that there were items scattered throughout the living room and also noticed that there was a cable wire which was not attached to anything on the wall in the living room. A bedroom was also ransacked. The victim reported a television was stolen from the residence.

On January 17, 2011 at 10:59 p.m., patrolman John Deegan responded to another apartment on the 200 block of East Westfield Avenue on a report of a burglary. No forced entry was observed, however the victim stated that he left the windows unlocked in the apartment which is located on the ground floor.
The victim reported missing from the apartment (1) black Playstation 3 with accessories and games, and black and blue duffle bag.
