The word ‘yogais a Sanskrit word that means to yoke or bring together, to unite. The sound of ‘Omhas been defined as the sound of creation, symbolizing the infinite. When you first emit that sound, it may feel a bit strange because you’re making a sound out of your breath; but once you realize how it’s the core of all things, you do it again, with a little more purpose. Om is the sound that you start off with when you are preparing for a session of Yoga, with Lisa Ferraro in Roselle Park on Tuesday nights and Friday mornings. It is an hour of a peaceful but fairly intense workout.

In the hustle and bustle of work and life in general, stress takes over every aspect of your being, even your breath. We might not realize it, but our breathing becomes labored and fast-paced. Taking part to relieve the tension that affects everything from your posture to your posture to your breath.

Om.

Lisa brings all those things into perspective during her yoga sessions. The sparse room removes all possible distractions and all you have is a mat, some exercise blocks, some elastic bands if needed, and your breath to get in tune with your body. Classes start with the most basic of positions to Warrior pose and Crane pose and even Eagle pose; all accompanied by music. 起初, all those stances might seem impossible but Lisa, with her 20 years of experience and decade of instructing, takes into account what you are capable of and brings it all into focus.

Om.

Lisa started with a love of music and singing and studied eastern philosophy at Westminster Choir College. Her family also started practicing yoga and reading books on yoga philosophy. She studied at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in New York City and got her certification to teach. Her parents had also joined her journey, opening a Yoga Studio in Westfield and Fanwood for years until they retired. Her father still guides meditation at home in Roselle Park.

Teaching is what keeps Lisa practicing daily, but allows her to also share her love for yoga with others. She lives in Union County with her husband and daughter and works in several yoga studios in the area but holds two unique classes in town, where she grew up. Lisa teaches out of Dancers Pointe at 122 东大街西田. 目前, she holds classes Tuesday evening at 6:45 比前收市价. and an early Friday morning class at 5:30 比前收市价. A bit early, but a great way to wind down the week to separate work from rest. Each class has students use breathing and focusing techniques as well as yoga asanas/movement to end with relaxation and focus.

Lisa is offering a free first class to allow residents the opportunity to try out yoga and embark on a journey of peace and meditation. Students range from experienced practitioners to those with physical limitations.
