A transformer explosion affected areas of Roselle Park with intermittent power outages in some part of the east side of town. Residents from Avon Street to the Roselle Park border on Galloping Hill and along Westifeld Avenue reported temporary outages that lasted 15-20 minutes. The Elmora Hills area of Elizabeth also experienced power outages.
Power appears to have been restored to the area although most traffic lights along East Westfield Avenue are reported still out.

UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): Power is restored to Warren Avenue and traffic lights are working on Chestnut, Gordon, and Locust Streets.
