If anyone going to vote after 8 o’clock in the morning today notices some additional information at their polling station, it is due to new legislation signed into law by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy that will require poll workers to report the number of voters who have voted at each precinct every two hours.

Starting with this year’s general election, each polling station will have to display a notice showing the official count of the cumulative number of voters who have voted at each voting precinct. This notice must indicate the number of voters who have voted by machine and by provisional ballot.

Such notice is to be updated every two hours until the close of polls. During the November 6th election, that means the number of voters at each precinct will update seven (7) krat – na 8 Pred talne, 10 Pred talne, opoldne, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. when polls close.

This new law also authorizes challengers to request the reported count.
