The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to announce that income-eligible senior adults can obtain free vouchers to purchase “Jersey Fresh” fruits, vegetables, and herbs at Roselle Park’s Farmers’ Market, along with others in Union County.

The vouchers are funded by the State of New Jersey Farmers’ Market Program, through the Union County Division on Aging and Disability Resource Connection in the Department of Human Services.

Each eligible senior will receive five vouchers worth $5 each for a total of $25.

The program was designed in four (4) increments to enable seniors to purchase produce in smaller amounts, helping to ensure freshness.

To be eligible for the vouchers, an individual must be a resident of Union County, of age 60 years or older, and have an annual income that does not to exceed $22,311.00 for a single person or a combined/couple income of $30,044.00.

To apply for the vouchers, seniors are asked to fill out an advance registration form available at the Casano Community Center located at 314 Chestnut Street.

The vouchers will be distributed on Wednesday, August 2nd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Center.

To pick up a voucher, proof of income (such as a Medicaid card, SSI card, SNAP program) verification or annual pension and Social Security statement must be presented.
