On November 4, 2011 at about 9:37 a.m. in the area of 110 East Westfield Avenue, Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a brown Pontiac traveling westbound on East Westfield Avenue. The vehicle was in violation of 39:3-75 (safety glass).

A NCIC (National Crime Information Center) check of the vehicles registration revealed an expired registration as of 10/2011.

A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of two (2) partially smoked hand rolled cigarettes containing suspected marijuana and one (1) small Ziplock bag containing suspected marijuana.

The driver, Raymond Jennings, III, age 26 of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest. Also in the vehicle was the driver’s 2-year-old child seated in the rear seat.

The child was transported to police headquarters without incident.

The vehicle was impounded for being unregistered and un-insured. Mr. Jennings was charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 39:3-75 (safety glass), 39:3-4 (unregistered vehicle), 39:6b-2 (un-insured vehicle), 39:4-49.1 (CDS in motor vehicle); 39:3-76.2(a) (child passenger restraints).

Mr. Jennings was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of November 17, 2011. His child was later released to his custody.
