At approximately 1:57 p.m. today, Roselle Park Police responded to the 500 block of West Westfield Avenue on a report of a grey truck that dropped a large amount of an unknown liquid on the roadway creating a hazardous condition.

The spill caused the westbound lanes to be shutdown temporarily as Union County HazMat and Roselle Park Fire Department arrived on scene.

The liquid was identified as a C Boncoat Type II resin (a Class-A component) and said to be non-caustic.

The vehicle that caused the spill was identified and stated to be a flooring company out of Brooklyn, New York. A spill-response team responded to conduct remediation of the affected area.

The area was deemed safe to travel and reopened.
