The Raritan Valley Rail Coalition (RVRC) Board of Trustees, One Seat Ride Coalition, and Coalition of Raritan Valley Line Mayors invites the public to be part of history by riding the first weekday evening off-peak one-seat ride train from Roselle Park to Penn Station New York and from Penn Station New York back to Roselle Park on Monday January 12, 2015.

RVRC has been advocating for a ‘one-seat’ ride on the Raritan Valley Line for nearly two decades and the first step in the process was taken by NJ TRANSIT on March 3rd of last year when the first off-peak weekday trains started operating on hybrid engines that could change from diesel to electric. This allows for commuters to no longer need to change trains at Newark Penn Station. The second phase – to have after 8 p.m. weekday direct service was originally promised for November of 2014 but was postponed to what NJ TRANSIT noted as budget issues. After these issues were cleared up, the weeknight evening service is now scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2015.

The first weekday off-peak evening one-seat ride train number 5150 will leave Roselle Park station at 7:21 p.m. and arrived at Penn Station New York at 8:02 in the evening. A Roselle Park to New York timetable is available below:
