September 18, 2013

Ay 5:41 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to a dispute on the 100 block of West Colfax Avenue. Soraida Rodriguez, 43 of Roselle Park, was arrested and charged with Simple Assault by Patrolman Angelo Marino. The victim stated Rodriguez struck her with a frozen water bottle causing a minor injury. Rodriguez was released after posting bail.

September 19, 2013

At 10:50 a.m., a man riding a young girl’s bicycle carelessly on East Westfield Avenue was stopped by police on Pershing Avenue. Stacy Dixon, 45 of Elizabeth, was arrested on a $2,000 South River warrant. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after patrolman Nicholas Vaughan found him in possession of a glass smoking pipe. Dixon was released into custody of the South River Police Department.

September 20, 2013

A 1999 Plymouth was stopped for multiple traffic violations on Linden Road by Patrolman Marino. Ruben Myrick, 22 of Newark, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after Marino found a cup containing suspected marijuana and a metal grinder. His passenger, Davon Chavers, 23 of Newark, was charged with hindering apprehension after he provided police with false names. Chavers bail was set at $7,500 and he was lodged into the Union County Jail.

Christopher Rizer, 36 of Roselle, was arrested at the Elizabeth Police Department on a $1,313 Roselle Park warrant by Patrolman Joseph Iannone. Rizer was transported to the Union County Jail.

Roselle Park Police responded to a residence on the 700 block of Woodland Avenue for a report of a burglary. Police determined that suspect(s) forced entry to the home through a window then stole several items from within the house. The burglary took place Friday night between 6 – 9 p.m. A possible suspect vehicle is a red or maroon minivan that was seen parked near the house during that time frame.

September 21, 2013

Patrolman John Deegan spotted a suspicious vehicle parked near the post office while on patrol. Deegan stopped to investigate and found a $100 Newark warrant for the driver, Malik McAllister, 30 of Newark, and also had a suspended NJ driver’s license. McAllister told police he was waiting for a friend. McAllister’s passenger, Allistair M. Mingo, 32 of East Orange, was arrested on a $250 Union warrant. Both were released after posting bail.

At 2:42 a.m., Patrolman Dean Khallaf stopped a 2005 Subaru for violations on Locust Street and found the driver, Brianna Taluba, 23 of Warren, in possession of suspected marijuana. Taluba was also charged with DWI and related traffic offenses. Taluba’s passenger, Flavio Vilchez-Contreras, 25 of Bayonne, was also charged with possession of marijuana,

Patrolmen Brian Macdonald and Michael Bell responded to an apartment building on the 100 block of West Westfield Avenue for a reported dispute. Macdonald arrested Wilken De Los Santos, 30 of Newark, and charged him with Simple Assault after finding an individual in the apartment suffering from minor injuries reportedly inflicted by De Los Santos. De Los Santos was lodged in the Union County Jail on $5,000 bail.
