October 8, 2014

On Wednesday, October 8th, at 9:58 p.m., Patrolman Brian Macdonald conducted a motor vehicle stop on Linden Road at 1st Avenue on a 2000 Honda for an equipment violation. After a records check, it was learned that the registered owner had an active traffic warrant out of Bass River Municipal Court. Once stopped, the driver – Conrado Nunez, age 22, from Linden – had the warrant confirmed in the amount of $370 and Mr. Nunez was arrested for same. The passenger, Jerry Kilcan, age 19, from Elizabeth was reportedly found to be in possession of (under 50 grams) of a suspected Controlled Dangerous Substance – marijuana – and also arrested. Both were processed and Mr. Nunez was Released on his Own Recognizance (R.O.R.) from Bass River Municipal Court. Mr. Kilcan was charged with Possession of CDS marijuana and released with a summons.

October 12, 2014

At 10:46 a.m., Patrolman Mitchell White conducted a motor vehicle stop on Faitoute Avenue at West Clay Avenue on a 2007 Acura for an equipment violation. During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle was identified as Edwin Polanco, age 23, from Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Linden Municipal Court in the amount of $500. During the stop, Mr. Polanco was also found to be in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance (under 50 grams), marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a CDS, posted full bail, and was released on a summons.

October 13, 2014

On Monday at 10:09 a.m., Patrolman Angelo Marino conducted a pedestrian stop on East Westfield Avenue at Galloping Hill Road for jaywalking. The pedestrian was identified as Louis Capodice, age 42, from Roselle. He was found to have two (2) active warrants from Roselle and Elizabeth Municipal Courts with bail totaling $350. Subsequent to the arrest, Mr. Capodice was found to be in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription, suboxone. He was charged with Possession of a CDS and transported to the Union County Jail on $5,000 bail.

At 10:49 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeQuarto conducted a motor vehicle stop on West Westfield Avenue at Walnut Street on a 2013 Honda for an equipment violation. During the stop, the passenger of the vehicle was identified as Lilly K. Ruizcruz, age 22, from Roselle Park. During the stop, Ms. Ruizcruz was found to be in possession of a suspected controlled dangerous substance, Xanax pills. She was charged with Possession of a CDS and released on a summons.
