March 9, 2014

At 1:51 a.m., Detective Robert Harms conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1997 BMW on the 100 block of West Westfield Avenue after observing the vehicle travel westbound in the eastbound lanes of Route 28. The driver, Darryl Crutchfield, age 46, from Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) following the officer’s investigation. Subsequently, Crutchfield was issued summonses for DWI, open container, improper use of a divided highway, reckless driving, and refusal to submit to breath testing. He was then released to a family member with a court date.

March 14, 2014

At 2:20 a.m., Patrolman Brian Swick conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Infiniti on Camden Street for a moving violation. The driver initially advised the officer that his name was Louis F. Irizarry and also David F. Irisarry with different dates of birth. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was in fact Ricardo Maldonado, age 27, from Roselle Park. It was discovered that Maldonado is a fugitive from justice out of Pennsylvania for Theft by Deception. He also had warrants out of Woodbridge, Mountainside, and Elizabeth Municipal Courts totaling $2,280. He was issued a summons for hindering his own apprehension with bail set at $5,000, and he was committed to the Union County Jail awaiting extradition.

March 15, 2014

At 5:39 a.m., Patrolman John Fitzgerald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1994 Toyota at the 600 block of West Westfield Avenue for an equipment violation. The passenger, Felicia Walker, age 23, from Newark was found to be in possession of (under 50 grams) of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and charged with the same. Walker was issued a summons and released on her own recognizance with a court date.

At 10:35 a.m., Patrolman Alexander Lanza conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1998 Honda on the 800 block of East Westfield Avenue in Elizabeth for a moving violation. The driver, Rachael Bowser, age 24, from Neptune was found to have active warrants for her arrest from Manchester Township, Pleasantville, and Wall Township with bail totaling $2,328. She was arrested on the warrants and turned over to Pleasantville Police Department.

At 10:39 p.m., Patrolman John Fitzgerald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1994 Toyota on West Clay Ave at Filbert Street. The driver, Zakiyah Butler, age 22, from Linden was arrested on an active Roselle Park Municipal Court warrant for $200. She was ultimately released after posting bail.

March 16, 2014

Patrolman Alexander Lanza conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2005 Toyota for a moving violation on Linden Road at East Westfield Avenue. The driver, Ralph Harvey, age 39, from Newark was found to be in possession of (under 50 grams) of suspected marijuana and arrested. Harvey was served a summons and released on his own recognizance with a court date.

On Sunday, Patrolman Brian Macdonald conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2012 Nissan at the 500 block of West Westfield Avenue for a moving violation. The driver, Anna Kaster, age 32, from Red Bank was found to have an active no bail warrant out of Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested and turned over to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

March 17, 2014

At 11:18 a.m., Patrolman Gregory Polakoski conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2001 Nissan on Gordon Street. The driver, Terrence Parker, age 22, from Roselle was found to be driving on a suspended license. Further investigation revealed Parker to be in possession of (under 50 grams) of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and issued summons for the same. He was released with a court date.

At 12:14 p.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2004 Oldsmobile on West Westfield Avenue at Gordon Street for an equipment violation. The passenger identified herself to police as Latisha Solomon with a false date of birth and social security. Investigation revealed the true identity of the passenger to be Latishia Lassiter, age 36, from Elizabeth. She was found to have arrest warrants out of Elizabeth, Newark, and Roselle Municipal Courts bail totaling $900. She was placed under arrest and charged with hindering her own apprehension. Bail was set at $3,500 by Judge Gary Bundy and she was lodged at the Union County Jail.
