June 1, 2016

At approximately 9:25 a.m., Patrolman John Fitzgerald conducted a motor vehicle stop on Galloping Hill Road on a 2003 Toyota for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Michael S. Salerno, age 25 from Staten Island, New York was found to be in possession of suspected controlled dangerous substances (heroin, marijuana, and oxycodone) as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Brianna N. Delprete, age 25 also from Staten Island, was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Both were placed under arrest and transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where they were processed. Mr. Salerno was charged with three (3) counts of possession of c.d.s., and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Delprete was charged with possession of c.d.s. Both were served with summonses and released with a future court date.

June 6, 2016

At approximately 1:16 a.m., Patrolman William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop on Locust Street on a 1995 Toyota for an equipment violation. Both the driver of the vehicle, Alain Bathelus, age 22 from Elizabeth, and the passenger, Daniel J. Kelly, age 21 from Roselle, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both were placed under arrest and transported to Roselle Park Police Headquarters where they were processed. During a further search of Mr. Kelly at headquarters, officers reportedly located an additional bag of suspected marijuana in his sock. Both Mr. Bathelus and Mr. Kelly were charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were served with summonses and released with a future court date.

June 7, 2016

At approximately 11 a.m., officers responded to an apartment complex located on East Westfield Avenue for a report of burglary and theft. It was found that an unknown individual had broken into the laundry room at the complex, pried open the change box on the washing machine, and attempted to remove the loose change stored in the machine. It is unknown if any change was removed at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident are encouraged to contact the Roselle Park Police Department at (908) 245-2300.

June 8, 2016

At approximately 6:05 p.m., Sergeant Dominick Frino discovered two (2) individuals trespassing on Norfolk Southern property train tracks near Seaton Avenue. They were identified as Marlon Thiong, age 23 from Roselle, and Courtney Ferdinando, age 20 from Roselle Park. They were both found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Thiong and Ms. Fernando were arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were charged with defiant trespassing, possession of c.d.s., and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were served with summonses and released with a future court date.
