Dowling’s Irish Pub and Restaurant will be hosting their first annual “Friends of the Pub” this Saturday, February 20th.
The event will benefit the Roselle Park fireworks shows which are usually held every year around Independence Day in July.
The day will consist of different guest bartenders including Roselle Park Mayor Carl Hokanson starting a 1 p.m. Along with their popular eats and drinks, live music and the house DJ will be turning up the music all day and night. The mayor said he brushed up on his Shirley Temple recipe so that both young and old could join in the celebration.
15% of the day’s revenue will be donated to the cause. Fourth of July fireworks are paid for through donations throughout the year. Even if a certain year meets the cost, donations are held for subsequent years when donors might be not as prevalent.
Dowling’s is located on 117 Chestnut Street at the corner of Williams Street. Ample free parking is available at the municipal parking lot that has entrances on both Chestnut and Williams Street.
