On August 9, 2011 at about 5:45 p.m., Patrolman Kevin Florzcak observed a blue VW Jetta approach the red light at West Westfield Avenue and Faitoute Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop for the red light and conducted a right turn onto Faitoute Avenue in violation of 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal).

A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of an open can of Budweiser beer that was cold to the touch and one (1) small clear Ziploc bag of suspected marijuana.

The driver, Stephen Knapp, age 45 of Roselle Park, was placed under arrest charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 39:4-49.1 (CDS in a motor vehicle), 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal), 39:4-51(b) (open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle), and 39:4-51(a) (consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle).

Mr. Knapp was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal court date of August 25, 2011.
