This morning, October 13th, at approximately 6:26 a.m., the Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) responded to the 100 block of West Roselle Avenue on a report of a robbery.

The victim, a 52-year-old Roselle Park resident, stated that he was standing near a vehicle when a dark-colored SUV pulled next to him.

The driver was described as a heavy-set, black male in his 30s, wearing a camouflage shirt. The passenger was described as a thin, dark-skinned, black male approximately in his 30s with braided hair and a goatee wearing a camouflage shirt.

The males reportedly began to ask for directions as the passenger of the SUV exited the vehicle and held an unknown object – believed to be a stun gun – against the victims’ chest and demanded his wallet. The victim attempted to run away. However, the suspect pushed him to the ground and began to struggle with him, activating the stun gun. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled the area in the SUV without any of the victim’s possessions.
