Community Blood Drive On March 1st

The Knights Of Columbus #3240, supporting the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, will be holding a Community Blood Drive on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Church of Assumption.
Interested donors are asked to follow the following procedures:
- Must weigh 120 lbs.
- Must eat a meal and drink plenty of water one (1) hour prior to donating.
- Must be at least 16-years-old (Parental consent form must be signed)
- Must have photo or signed identification
- Must know social security number
For those who have recently traveled outside the United States or for any other eligibility questions, they can contact the Blood Center of New Jersey (link) at (973) 676-4700 ext. 132 between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation is dedicated to serving people afflicted with various forms of thalassemia, most notably the major form of this genetic blood disease, Cooley’s anemia/thalassemia major. More information can be found at their website (link) and Facebook page (link).
