Roselle Park Police arrested Quasan H. Brewster, age 31 of Linden, for charges related to a pursuit that occurred on Monday, June 24th, at approximately 11:30 a.m. That day, Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan was observing traffic on Westfield Avenue near Valley Road when he observed a 2010 Honda Civic being operated in an erratic manner almost resulting in a crash near the Garden State Parkway ramp at Exit 137. Patrolman Vaughan followed the vehicle northbound on the parkway in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner. The pursuit was terminated near Exit 140 in Hillside Township.

A follow-up investigation by Detective Matthew Disano resulted in Brewster’s arrest on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Roselle Park police station. Brewster was charged with 2nd degree Eluding in addition to several traffic offenses. His bail was set at $50,000.
