On August 2, 2011 at 8:56 a.m., Patrolman Alexander Lanza responded to the 100 block of East Westfield Avenue on the report of criminal mischief. The complainant stated that he received a telephone message from a tenant stating that the railing outside of the apartment building was damaged. The superintendent stated it appeared someone had removed the screws that held the railing to the building then pushed the railing over, separating and destroying its brick base. The superintendent stated it appeared that the opposite railing had also been tampered with stating that a brick was missing from its base. The cost of the damage is unknown at this time.
