On July 22, 2011at 1:27 a.m., Sgt. Dominick Frino observed three (3) juvenile males on the bike path closest to Galloping Hill Road and approached the juveniles on the sidewalk area of the 700 block of Galloping Hill Road where there was a smell of suspected marijuana in the area. The males were identified as two (2) 16-year-old males and a 17-year-old male from Roselle Park. An investigation led to the discovery of a small plastic bag that contained suspected marijuana in possession of one of the juveniles.
The juvenile was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana) and a curfew violation. He was released to a parent pending a family court hearing.
The other two juveniles were transported to police headquarters, processed for violation of curfew, and released to a parent.
