With the election of current 2nd Ward Councilwoman Charlene Storey to the position of Council-At-Large, the councilwoman’s seat will become vacant and will require an appointment to fulfill the remainder of her term which expires on December 31st of 2015.

As is the custom in line with New Jersey statutes, the members of the majority party, in this instance Democrats, will present three names as candidates for the 2nd Ward council seat. Anyone who is a registered voter and lives in the second ward can present themselves as a candidate and should reach out to the Roselle Park Democratic Committee. According to their website (link), they can be reached at (908) 884-5620 or via US Mail at P.O. Box 146, Roselle Park, NJ 07204.

Under New Jersey state law, anyone appointed for the second ward will only be appointed for 2015 and will have to run in the general election to be elected for a full three-year term next year.

With this appointment, whomever is appointed will be the fifth person in five years to represent the 2nd Ward.
