On Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:24 p.m., Patrolman Robert Harms responded to the 200-300 block of West Clay Avenue on a report an assault. The 15 year old male victim stated he was walking home with his cousin and his friend (all juveniles) when he was stopped by several males that he knew – two (2) adults and two (2) juveniles.
The victim stated that these males approached him and was then punched in both sides of his face but was unsure of which of the males struck him.
The victim stated that the males then got into a black 4-door vehicle and fled the scene. The victim explained that a few days prior his iPod was stolen while he was at school. He stated that he was told that one of these males stole it so he approached him and asked for his iPod back. The victim stated that he believes the assault was in retaliation for accusing the male of taking his property.
During the incident, another juvenile was also assaulted who stated that a stocky Hispanic male punched him in his left shoulder. The victim’s father was advised of complaint procedures and refused medical attention for his son and his nephew’s injuries. Also on scene was the caller who stated that he observed the assault and called 9-1-1.
